Kimberly-Clark Australia has opened a distribution centre in Ravenhall, Victoria. The facility expands the company's storage and outbound distribution infrastructure for its consumer hygiene products.
A new site in the distribution network
The centre occupies more than 23,000 square metres. The company expects it to increase annual outbound delivery capacity by more than 30%. The site includes solar power, electric forklifts and electric-vehicle charging facilities. The delivery figure concerns an expected capability, not a measured increase in products already shipped.
Functions of the facility
- Storage within the company's distribution network.
- Outbound handling of consumer hygiene products.
- Transport and equipment arrangements at the Ravenhall site.
The opening concerns logistics rather than a new product-manufacturing line. A distribution facility holds and dispatches goods; its floor area should not be presented as additional paper-production capacity. This distinction keeps the purpose of the Ravenhall investment clear.
Information for supply-chain partners
Storage capacity, dispatch capability and completed deliveries are separate measures. More space may enable a larger operation, but a delivery total would still need a defined reporting period and evidence of goods actually dispatched. The company's stated capacity expectation does not, by itself, establish those operating results.
For customers and logistics partners, a specific service arrangement would also need to identify the products, locations and delivery requirements concerned. The opening does not automatically set the terms of every order or alter an individual customer's agreement. Enquiries about a particular arrangement should therefore be directed to the company.
The equipment described for the site is distinct from a verified environmental outcome. The presence of solar power or electric equipment does not establish the emissions of the entire supply chain. Any numerical comparison would need its own boundary, period and measurement basis. No independently verified reduction is asserted in this communication.
The confirmed milestone is the opening of the distribution centre. Subsequent updates could distinguish its operating activity from the expectations stated at launch. The group media channel below is provided for company-related media enquiries; it is not a local warehouse booking service.
