TMEIC Corporation Americas plans a utility-scale solar inverter factory in Brookshire, Texas, together with a headquarters move to Houston. The factory is scheduled to start operations in October 2024; the headquarters relocation is planned for March 2025.

Manufacturing expansion in Texas

The announced Brookshire facility covers 144,000 square feet and has an initial annual inverter-production capacity of 9 GW. It will be near the company's existing manufacturing operation in Katy. TMEIC also intends to retain its Roanoke, Virginia, office for engineering work. The dates describe the timetable announced for these changes, rather than completed events.

Different functions within the expansion

  • Brookshire: planned solar inverter manufacturing.
  • Houston: planned headquarters location.
  • Roanoke: retained engineering office.

The annual gigawatt figure describes the rated capacity of inverters that the manufacturing operation could produce. It is not electricity generated by the factory, a quantity of electricity sold, or a report of installations already delivered. Keeping the unit's meaning clear is necessary when comparing production plans with operating results.

Project information for customers and partners

The announcement combines an administrative move with a manufacturing project, but the two have separate dates and functions. A headquarters relocation concerns where corporate activities are based; a factory opening concerns production capability. Neither should be substituted for a customer's product acceptance or a delivery confirmation.

Enquiries about a potential supply project should therefore identify the required inverter and the application being considered. The manufacturing plan does not itself establish the specification, price or delivery terms of an individual order. Those matters would need to be addressed with the company for the particular project.

The distinction also applies to future expansion. Available space or a stated opportunity to scale operations does not demonstrate that an additional stage has been funded or commissioned. This communication records the announced Brookshire and headquarters plans and the retained office function. It does not report subsequent commissioning results, completed annual production or a guaranteed employment outcome.
