Entos Pharmaceuticals has launched a manufacturing facility in Carlsbad, California, to support genetic-medicine development. The site is intended for in-house drug-substance production for studies supporting investigational applications and for clinical trials of proprietary and partnered programmes.

Facilities for development-stage manufacturing

The 20,000-square-foot site includes formulation space and suites for messenger RNA and plasmid DNA manufacturing. Entos has appointed Swapnil Ballal as Vice President of Manufacturing to oversee the facility and its broader manufacturing strategy. A commercial-scale site in Edmonton, Alberta, remains a future plan, separate from the Carlsbad launch.
